DOMINIC SOLANKE bagged a sensational second-half hat-trick to spoil Nuno Espirito Santo's debut.
But furious Forest fans were in no doubt referee Rob Jones did even more damage to their cause after he controversially sent off Willy Boly to leave Nuno's team fighting with 10 men for almost 70 minutes.

Solanke took full advantage of Boly's absence by bullying Forest in the air to score with two textbook headers as he netted his first Premier League hat-trick.
His contribution meant Bournemouth have taken 16 points from the last 18 available as Iraola led the Cherries to four Premier away wins on the spin for the first time in their history.
Any concern Nuno might have had about the reception he would receive from a support still smitten by Steve Cooper, turned out to be unfounded.
Warm applause met the new man's arrival and in return he applauded all sides of the City Ground before beating his heart and the new Forest badge he now represents.
But nothing can unite a support quite as effectively as a sense of injustice so take a bow referee Rob Jones for making sure EVERY Forest fan rallied behind their team as they bonded in ANGER!
The dismissal of Willy Boly after 23 minutes will be hard to beat this season for sheer incompetence of one match official - and the impotence of VAR in situations like this.
Boly was already booked - rightly so - for sending Solanke crashing with a crude tackle after just five minutes.
But 18 minutes later this game turned on one of the worst refereeing decisions you will see this season.

Boly timed his tackle to perfection to beat Solanke cleanly to the ball then charged forward and slid in to win the ball cleanly from Adam Smith.
The defender didn't leave the ground, he tackled with one-foot, his studs weren't up, he remained on the floor.
If anything, Smith brought his boot down on Boly as the Forest man made contact with the ball.
But somehow Jones spotted malice in the tackle and blew for a foul.
Sensing what was to come next, Ryan Yates and Morgan Gibbs-White raced to the scene and pleaded with the official not to do what he was threatening.
But Jones couldn't wait to get his card out and produced a yellow, followed by an inevitable red.
As Boly gawped in bewilderment and Nuno held his face in his hands, Jones sent the Ivory Coast international packing to the fury of Forest fans.
Andoni Iraola blotted his copybook and was booked for waving an imaginary yellow card towards Boly - which hopefully he will feel embarrassed about when he sees the replays.

Former Prem ref Mike Dean revealed the unhappy truth: "VAR can't get involved because it's a second booking.
"Boly has played the ball. He is very unlucky."
Former Forest striker Kris Boyd was more blunt: "The referee has had a shocker," he declared.
To chants of "You don't know what you're doing," and "You're not fit to referee," and another we can't repeat in a family newspaper, Jones blundered through the rest of the afternoon.
Nuno sacrificed Divock Origi to bring on defender Moussa Niakhate while Bournemouth also made an early sub as Alex Scott came on for the injured Lewis Cook.
Ten-man Forest were up against it and they almost conceded after 36 minutes when Ryan Christie's miscued cross deceived Turner and crashed off the crossbar.
However they were on the wrong end of another terrible VAR call one minute later.
Harry Toffolo's cross cannoned off Adam Smith's outstretched left hand.

Yet incredibly VAR couldn't confirm whether Smith's arm was inside the area or not, and Jones was also clueless!
However the game exploded into life as we were treated to a five-goal thriller after the break.
Ten-man Forest took the lead two minutes after the restart when Wood dispossessed Scott and played in Anthony Elanga who calmly slotted past Neto.
The Nuno era was officially off and running.
But his joy was short-lived as Bournemouth levelled four minutes later.
The ever-dangerous Dominic Solanke soared above Murillo to meet Marcos Senesi's cross and his header looped over Turner to land in the Forest net.
And the striker doubled his tally to give the Cherries the lead seven minutes later with his sixth goal in six games.
Scott and Christie's short-corner routine resulted in Phil Billing flicking on a header which deflected off Williams into the path of Solanke.

And the hitman pounced to gobbles up the chance from nine yards.
"Two-one to the referee," chanted Forest's fuming fans.
But their mood swung again as they snatched an equaliser with 15 minutes remaining.
Gibbs-White's corner was powered goalwards by Wood and despite a desperate lunge by Sinisterra, the Bournemouth man could only help the ball into his own net.
Forest almost pulled off an extraordinary win but Gibbs-White was denied by a brilliant goal line clearance by Outarra.

David Brooks then hit the post before Solanke had the last word, four minutes into stoppage time to complete his hat-trick with a soaring header which Turner could only push into the roof of his net.
